Welcome to Showbiz Kennel. I hope you enjoy your visit. My first encounter with the Chinese Shar-pei came with a dog book I received for Christmas from my husband. When I saw the Shar-pei I knew that was my next dog. I had my first Shar-pei by next Christmas 1987 and then I was hooked ! I got my first real show dog in 1992, he was an Apricot Brushcoat I purchased from Kathy Cruz of Chula Vista Kennel, then my journey began into the dog show world. My relaxation is going to dog shows. My granddaughter Kayleigh made her Jr. Handling debut in the year 2005, and is now showing right along with the “big guns”. I’m sure anyone that sees me at a show usually sees Kayleigh. We have a couple litters a year looking for that “perfect” dog. We have show and pet puppies available occasionally. Some times we have an older puppy or young adult available because they didn’t make it to the show ring for some reason. This doesn’t mean that they aren’t great pets, just don’t pass the breed standard for the show ring. They are ideal for the family that doesn’t want to bother with potty training and are usually had some leash training, crate trained and had most if not all their shots. Sometimes they might even all ready be neutered. The Chinese Shar-pei is a very loyal, loving dog. They make great family members. My dogs are all well socialized and raised around children from the time they are born. You will also see on this web site some of my other hobbies. We have added to our little family of critters some Old English “Babydoll” Southdown Miniature Sheep. They are miniature sheep that have the cutest little Teddy Bear face with a Teddy bear smile.So check back occasionally to see if our family has grown.
